Oh Oh

Bit of a boo boo last night I'm afraid, we set out to do our 3 mile run last night and we wanted to cover the first part of the half marathon race we'll be doing at the end of September. So we got to the park at around 7.30 and started ftom the correct start point. We then headed down Chesterfield Avenue as the arrows indicate and around the back of the park. Unfortunately we only ran bank to the start point and didn't continue down the Ordnance Survey Road and back up the Furze Road. I honestly thought we had done the 3 miles or thereabouts but my watch should have told me differently. We finished the run in 20 minutes, and although I felt we were going a little faster than normal there was no way we were running sub 7 minute miles.
In all honesty though I really couldn't remember the map and had completly forgotten about the second part of the 3 miles. It was all my fault. In fact I only realised it now when the doubt got the better of me just before I started this entry.
Ahhh well we can make up for it tonight and hopefully we won't feel the effects too much on our 12 mile run on Sunday. (I know the course for this one)
We're off to a friend of Sarah's wedding tomorrow in Sarah's hometown of Liverpool, which I'm really looking forward to having never been before. It'll be nice to see where she grew up and meet some of her friends. Although, it being a wedding and all, I'm sure there'll be a few drinks to be had. Sarah and I have vowed however to knock the booze on the head after the wedding until the marathon is over. We're not big drinkers anyway so it shouldn't be too much trouble to us. Also with all the running our social life has suffered a bit so we don't get out much anyway anymore.

Hi Phillip - A near neighbour here. Saw your post over on Thomas's site, and see that you are in Glasnevin. I am in Santry, just across from DCU, so can't be far away.

I am running Dublin as well, although too many hiccups to be looking at a decent time, just hoping to get around.

Will read back over your progress to date. Enjoy the weekend in Liverpool - where I was brought up!
